20 unique date ideas in Singapore, beyond dinner and a movie
By Vladimir Borisov, founder of Teleport · October 2026
Singapore makes it easy to have a nice evening and surprisingly hard to have a memorable one. Here are twenty date ideas for couples who want something that feels like a story rather than a reservation. Opening hours and bookings change, so check the venue before you go.
Out in nature
- Southern Ridges at golden hour. Walk from Mount Faber across Henderson Waves as the light drops. Bring water and finish with dinner nearby.
- MacRitchie TreeTop Walk. A suspension bridge above the rainforest canopy, best early in the day before the heat.
- Cycling on Pulau Ubin. Take a bumboat from Changi Point, rent bikes and explore one of the last kampongs in Singapore.
- Sunrise at Marina Barrage. Quiet, wide open and one of the best skyline views in the city. Bring breakfast.
- Labrador Nature Reserve. Coastal boardwalks, old war relics and sea views, rarely crowded on weekdays.
- Singapore Botanic Gardens. A picnic on the lawn, and on some evenings a free outdoor concert at the Symphony Stage.
After dark
- Night Safari. A classic for a reason: the walking trails are far more atmospheric than the tram.
- Gardens by the Bay at night. The Supertree Grove light show, then a slow walk along the bay.
- A rooftop with a view. Choose a quieter bar away from Marina Bay for a real conversation.
- Late-night supper in Geylang or at a hawker centre. The best dates are often the least expensive ones.
Culture and curiosity
- Haw Par Villa. Strange, colourful and unlike anything else in Singapore. A great conversation starter.
- National Gallery Singapore. Combine an exhibition with sunset on the rooftop.
- Joo Chiat and Katong. Peranakan shophouses, kueh and small cafes for a slow afternoon walk.
- Chinatown and Tiong Bahru murals. Make a game of finding them, then stop for coffee.
Doing something together
- A cooking class. Learn to make a local dish you both love and recreate it at home.
- A pottery or perfume workshop. You leave with something you made together.
- Island day on Sentosa or Lazarus Island. Swap the busy beaches for a quieter island trip.
- A dance class. Salsa or swing: awkward for ten minutes and fun for the rest of the evening.
- Write each other a letter and swap it at the end of the day. Free, and it will mean more than most gifts.
The one you will tell stories about
20. A private immersive date written around the two of you
This is what we create at Teleport. A three-hour adventure in central Singapore where an encounter feels like a coincidence, until a detail from your life slips into the conversation. Two or three actors, real places, props and a keepsake at the end. You do not act or solve puzzles: you stay yourselves while the story unfolds around you.
It works for anniversaries, birthdays or just because, and one of you can plan it in secret. If you are thinking of a proposal, we also design private proposal adventures.
How to choose
If you have been together for a while, pick something neither of you has done before; novelty is what makes a date memorable. If it is an early date, choose something with a natural conversation built in: a walk, a market or a class. And if it is a milestone, make it personal: the details that only the two of you share matter more than the venue.
